Non-alloy and low-alloy steels

Steels are the most commonly used metallic materials. The properties of steel can be adjusted for a wide range of applications by alloying them with carbon and other elements in combination with heat and thermomechanical treatment. Steel is a fascinating material used in all application areas, elegant, safe, versatile and environmentally friendly.

Every workpiece starts out with a casting process. Machining the surface of a component in its original form requires a high-quality tool capable of removing casting scale of varying hardness and of transforming the rough casting into a precision component.



High alloy steels

With more than 2000 different material grades, half of which have been developed or refined over the past ten years, high-alloy steel is undeniably the most innovative state-of-the-art material there is. This applies in particular to titanium alloys. The high strength, high toughness, excellent corrosion resistance and low weight of titanium alloys make them indispensable for a number of modern applications such as aircraft construction and medical engineering. To ensure a perfect surface finish, we offer the perfect abrasive product for every application from cleaning and roughing through to structuring and fine sanding. These products are designed to meet the requirements of high-tech processes for the treatment of high-alloy and stainless steel.



Non-ferrous metals

Non-ferrous metals is the term given to metals which are not iron and do not contain iron, or to alloys in which iron is not a main element (e.g. aluminium, bronze and brass). Life today cannot be imagined without non-ferrous metals. Exquisite bathroom fittings, musical instruments and jewellery or printed circuit boards, lightweight aluminium automotive components etc. – the list could go on almost indefinitely.
