We are pleased to announce the release of our first ever ceramic belt series specifically designed for heavy-duty wood dimensioning: 2552 siaforce. This series is available for immediate purchase. 2552 siaforce has the following attributes which make it a powerful new solution for working with all types of wood:

• Aggressive cut: Self-sharpening ceramic grain in grits from 36-120
• Added durability: Robust poly-cotton backing (“X-wt” for 36-50 grit and “Y-wt” for 60-120 grit)
• Minimal loading: Proprietary synthetic bonding resin system and computer-controlled open coat technology

Designed to be a true work-horse for wood sanding, 2552 siaforce can be used in applications such as: dimensioning and planning wood flat stock, stroke sanding for aggressive stock removal, sanding down panel edges, and finishing for all types of wood. It is available in wide, narrow and edge belt configurations. End-user tests have proven successful in displacing the leading ceramic belts currently used in these applications. Charlotte-based sia Abrasives, Inc. USA has re-engineered its siafix™ Locking Disc product line to deliver superior performance and extended life. Stocked in 1- ½”, 2” and 3” sizes; the discs are readily available in both type 2 and type 3 attachment configurations.

sia USA Marketing Manager, Joseph Masters, explained, “We’ve re-formulated the material on select grains for our most popular siafix locking discs. We’re especially proud that our ceramic line now incorporates a premium grain that extends both lifetime and performance. Moreover, all of our aluminum oxide, zirconia, and ceramic locking discs now come with an easily identifiable yellow backing to reflect the existing sia branding.”

sia Abrasives, Inc. USA Expands Sales and Marketing Force

Charlotte-based sia Abrasives, Inc. USA (sia USA) is pleased to announce that Joseph Masters has been named “Marketing Manager” effective March 26th, 012. Additionally, starting in April, Tommy Scott, Walker Eastham, and Joshua Harris will join the company as Territory Sales Managers.

In his role as marketing manager, Masters will be responsible for public relations, promotions, sales tools, advertising, and electronic media for this business segment.

Additionally, he will coordinate all market research. Masters earned an MBA from St. Louis University, a BS in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri, and has 10 years of sales and marketing experience in positions of increasing responsibility.


“sia USA continues to invest in the US market as we expand operations and strengthen our market position,” said General Manager, Joseph Smith. “We’re pleased to have Masters, Scott, Eastham, and Harris as part of our team. They bring the right combination of knowledge and experience that is fundamental to our efforts, and helps ensure the continued steady expansion of our revenue stream.”

As the southern territory sales manager, Scott will manage sales in Alabama, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

A graduate of the University of North Alabama with a BS in Business, Scott has more than 15 years of experience in the welding industry and previously was president of Alabama Welding Supply.



Eastham will focus sales efforts in the Northeast, including Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island. Eastham graduated from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville with a BS in Business and has eight years of distribution and sales experience.



Harris will oversee sales for the Texas region. With an Associates degree in Business and Accounting, Harris brings 12 years of sales experience to the sia USA team, with over four years in the abrasives market.
